It is the ultimate truth in business. It also sums up the 35-year marketing career of Mouncey Ferguson on both the client and ad agency sides of the business. Mouncey began his marketing career as a brand assistant to the current Chairman of the Board (then Brand Manager) John E. Pepper, of the Procter & Gamble Company. Progressing through the ranks to Brand Manager, Mouncey left P&G in 1973 to accept the position of Advertising Manager at the new U.S. Postal Service. He was promoted to General Manager of Marketing in 1976, after successfully launching Express Mail nationally. As General Manager, he doubled profits from the Stamp Collecting business in just two years to over $100 million annually.

He left the US Postal Service in 1978 to establish Mouncey Ferguson & Associates, Inc., a marketing consulting company in Washington, D.C. In 1981, he moved the company to Leesburg, Virginia. By the mid-1980's, the fledgling marketing consulting company had grown to become a full service advertising agency with billings of over $12 million annually, and was serving national clients such as MCI Long Distance, Holiday Inn, Del Monte, SmithKline Beecham (now part of GlaxoSmithkline, former Bell Atlantic (now Verizon), and GTSI. On a regional level, the company also served the Xerox Realty Corporation as their agency of record for the Lansdowne development, in addition to Northern Counties Homes, Leesburg Today, Springwood Psychiatric Institute, three regional healthcare providers and several local banks.

In 1999, Mouncey co-invented Admine.com, and founded the company with Bill Replogle of Rainmaker Advertising, and David Abramson, who had recently sold his ad agency, Abramson Erlich Maines. Admine is an online resource for advertisers that recycles successful local advertising campaigns for use in new geographic areas. The business plan Mouncey developed was successful in getting the company funded by Venturehouse Group, of Washington, D.C., and Admine was launched in early 2000.

In early 2001, Mouncey founded Mouncey & Company, Inc., a new advertising and integrated marketing communications company that leverages his 35 years of successful experience to the benefit of clients. Mouncey has developed a wide network of strategic alliance partners, including ad agencies, creative directors and consultants, broadcast producers, art directors and copywriters that are brought into assignments as needed to ensure an effective creative product that will achieve the client's marketing goals, on a more cost-effective basis than traditional ad agencies. Because all of our talent is available on a consulting basis, our overhead costs are lower than most ad agencies.
